Rehab can be a tough choice, but you have to make it for the good of your loved ones. You must understand the severity of the drugs abuse and alcoholism. There are two types of treatments. One is inpatient treatment, and the other is outpatient treatment. They are also referred as in-house or outhouse treatments.
Get to know the difference
This is an in-house treatment program and lasts for a minimum of 28 days to 30 days or more. It depends on the severity of the person’s situation. Here, the patients voluntarily agree to stay at rehab center.
When a person is aware of his or her addiction, she or he may ask for help. This is for the initial stages. It is recommended not to ignore this feeling, and immediately arrange for an in-house treatment.
Why to choose residential programs?
The main reason for addicts to choose an in-house program is that they get all inclusive treatments. It includes detoxification and supervision during alcohol and withdrawals. Many psychotherapeutic treatments are carried out to address emotional and mental dependency on alcohol and drugs.
You could start incorporating different types of therapies like natural approaches for your addiction, change in your schedule as per your needs, etc., once you’ve selected and attained your treatment goals. When you successfully finish your residential treatment, you could choose to head home and continue with aftercare options such as support group meetings and counseling. Or else you could stay back and go for sober living facility.
It is best for those who have failed to gain success in the outpatient programs. This is because here the individuals are kept away from the outside world, while they are still connected with their friends and family members.
Moreover, at drug rehabilitation centre, a dedicated psychologist will be appointed for each individual, who will offer complete care and attention to the patient.
Outpatient programs are designed for individuals who do not need medical supervision during detoxification, and they have supportive and a stable work and home environment. These individuals are self-motivated, and their needs vary. Advantages of outpatient programs:
- You have freedom to carry out your day-to-day responsibilities at work and home.
- You will be counseled whenever there is an urge to consume alcohol or take drugs.
- You get to share your addiction related problems with like minded people in support group meetings, and learn from other’s experiences.
Anyone can be an addict, and there is no shame in it. It is just like any other disease. You need to get rid of it and lead a happy life ahead by opting for the right rehab treatments.
